Notre Dame Football Has COVID-19

Just announced this morning, five Notre Dame football players have tested positive for the coronavirus and another six players are in quarantine. As a result, practice is canceled for the day (obviously) and the team will undergo another round of COVID-19 testing tomorrow.

Overall, since Notre Dame has started testing on June 18th, they have administered 851 COVID-19 tests amongst everyone involved in the football program. Since that time, they have had nine positive cases, and two of those from initial reporting.

Since returning to school, the university has experienced a surge of cases, bringing the total to 304 positive tests. Even though Notre Dame is still practicing, I think their season will eventually get canceled for the fall. Notre Dame's November 27th opponent, North Carolina, has already suspended all athletic activities for the fall and I assume more will follow. Stay tuned for more news in college football in this wild ass season.
