Get ready for a string of takes so bold, yet so plausible, your mind could explode. I had fun with these so hear me out. Though these takes may be extremely unlikely to happen, there could be some substance to them. Let's see how many of these play out within the next year. Let's get into it.
1) The Tampa Bay Rays will be 2020 World Series Champions
-The Rays are young, hungry, and really good. Manager Kevin Cash runs the team like no other. The Rays were the first team to implement the shift, the first to implement a platoon pitching rotation, and I reckon they know something about the 2020 season that we don't. The Rays have had two straight seasons with 90 plus wins and are arguably the best team in franchise history since there World Series contending team in 2008. Don't count out Tampa.
2) The Pittsburgh Steelers will win Super Bowl LV
-It's been nearly a decade since the Steelers have put out a defense as good as this one. Much like the Rays, this defense is young and are ready to go on a run. I can't leave out that BIG BEN IS BACK BABY!! erm..sorry...the die hard Steeler fan in me came out. But don't let my bias distract you from the facts! James Conner is healthy, Big Ben is healthy, Stephon Tuitt is healthy, JuJu is healthy. Having Minkah and TJ (two of the greatest defenders in the league), this team could surprise some people. It won't be easy with the up and coming Browns and division leading, Baltimore Ravens, but I'm psyched for what this team could do. BANG BANG STILLER GANG!
3) Conor McGregor will come out of retirement to face Jorge Masvidal
-I'm not sure if this would happen, but this would be a dream fight. If this fight took place, it would without a doubt break UFC revenue records. McGregor and Masvidal are some of the most electric fighters in the UFC today. To sum up their most recent entanglements, Jorge Masvidal recently got smoked by title holder, Kamaru Usman at UFC 251. Usman won by decision in 5 rounds with Masvidal only having six days notice to prepare for the fight! Masvidal is already asking for a rematch with Usman claiming that he is the better fighter. I look forward to that rematch. We all know what Conor is up to these days...enjoying his Proper Twelve whiskey in his second retirement. We last saw The Notorious Irishman humiliating Cowboy Cerrone back in January at UFC 246. McGregor is currently 31 years old and I believe he's still got a fight or two left in him.
4) The Vegas Golden Knights will take home the Stanley Cup
-As predicted early in the season, the Bruins, Lightning, Capitals, and Blues have been atop the standings in the NHL. Vegas has been lurking around the middle of the pack all year and I expect them to make a run. They've got too much talent not to do some damage in the playoffs and perhaps take the Stanley Cup to Las Vegas for the first time. Though they are one of the best teams in the Pacific Division, the talent they could see in the playoffs will be a tough road.
5) Trevor Lawrence will be drafted by the Indianapolis Colts
-Have you seen the size of this guys fuckin' head!? Ole Trev lookin' like a long haired Peyton Manning! That's pretty much my reason why the Colts are gonna draft him. And the fact that they signed Rivers to a one year deal, they're gonna need someone for next year not named Jacoby Brissett.
So there ya have it...those are my takes on what could happen in the next year. We'll see how dumb or genius I look a year from now.
